Pryor, Oklahoma – Marilyn Hobbs, RCB Bank customer service representative and long-time employee, retires at the end of this year. Please join us as we celebrate her 22 years of service from 9-11 a.m. Friday, December 27 at RCB Bank’s Pryor downtown location, 222 SE First St.
Hobbs joined RCB Bank as a part-time teller in 1997 and has worked or assisted in nearly every department over the years. In 2000, she was promoted to new accounts, where she still serves today.
“Since I have worked this department so long, I was appointed as new account mentor to train others and was a go-to person for IRA questions from other branches,” Hobbs said.
She recalls the many changes over the years, from printing signature cards and CDs on the Swintec typewriter, “which jammed every time you tried to print,” to now doing most everything on an iPad.
She has made many friends with employees and customers, stating, “This is the downfall of retirement, not being able to keep up with everyone.”
In retirement, Hobbs is looking forward to sleeping in a little later, but admits after so many years her body clock says wake up at 6:45 a.m.
“I am planning to get my house organized, cook my husband some meals and spend time in my sewing room on the new machine I recently purchased.”
She is also planning to do some traveling to National Parks with her husband, Harold. Their first trip is to California Sequoia National Park and then to Oregon to visit family. She is also looking forward to spending more time with her eight grandchildren, ranging in ages 5-21.
Her parting wisdom: “Let your attitude be of Christ today. Be positive, not moody; be joyful, not cantankerous; be encouraging, not negative. Display Him today, don’t make it be about yourself.”
